A reliable and long-lived Meadow Sage, Salvia ‘Blue Hill’ sports spikes of true blue flowers over a long period from late spring to to early fall.
The fragrant foliage of Salvia ‘Blue Hill’ Meadow Sage repels deer. Pollinators, on the other hand, flock to it. Cut the plant back to encourage new center growth and a stronger rebloom. Moist, well-drained soil is best.
While Salvia or Meadow Sage in general seem to favor cooler climates, ‘Blue Hill’ has proven to be one of the best blues for the heat and humidity in the Southeast.
Botanical name: Salvia x sylvestris ‘Blauhügel’ or ‘Blue ‘Hill’
