Monarda ‘Red Velvet’ Bee Balm

Here’s a taller Bee Balm that makes an excellent backdrop in the center or back of the border. Monarda ‘Red Velvet’ is a robust performer with cherry red blooms and fragrant foliage that emerges bronze and matures to green.

Monarda grows best in full sun to part shade and consistently moist soil. It can be grown in clay soil and under black walnut trees. If the foliage starts to become unattractive, cut it back and the plant will quickly put on new growth.
