Commonly known as “Southern Blue Flag”, Iris virginica var. shrevei is native to wetlands and marshes across the Eastern United States. In June, lovely, pale lavender blooms with yellow throats open above the foliage.
Iris virginica var. shrevei Southern Blue Flag thrives in moist to wet conditions, and can even grow in clay soil. It spreads by rhizomes to form attractive clumps.
Try planting Southern Blue Flag en masse around ponds and in moist borders!
