Helianthus ‘Low Down’ Sunflower

Helianthus salicifolius ‘Low Down’ Sunflower is a compact plant with black centered golden yellow blooms over dark green, leathery foliage. A perennial sunflower, Helianthus ‘Low Down’ is an excellent dwarf form. ‘Low Down’ is floriferous and long blooming and makes a nice cut flower.

Low Down is a cultivar of Helianthus salicifolius which is native to parts of the central portion of the U.S. and scattered states eastward.

Helianthus ‘Low Down’ prefers sun and moist to average, well-drained soil. It tolerates poor soil and dry conditions.
