Disporopsis pernyi has slightly arching stems of glossy, dark green foliage. The pendulous, lemon-scented white flowers appear in early summer beneath the leaf axils. It is sometimes called Evergreen Solomon’s Seal. A rhizomatous plant, Disporopsis pernyi forms a nice size clump fairly quickly. This perennial makes a good evergreen ground cover for heavy shade areas. Foliage is nice for cutting.
Disporopsis pernyi prefers partial to full shade and moist to average, well-drained soil. This is a low maintenance, disease resistant plant that deserves more use.
