Asarum Maximum ‘Ling Ling’ Panda Face Ginger

Asarum maximum ‘Ling Ling’, an Asian perennial ginger, has large, glossy, leathery dark green leaves with a lighter green patterning. Also referred to as Panda Face Ginger, Asarum maximum ‘Ling Ling’ has unusual black blooms with white panda faces in early mid-spring. The flowers are beautiful, although usually hidden by the evergreen foliage.

Asarum ‘Ling Ling’ prefers shade and moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil, but it will also tolerate clay soils. It spreads slowly via underground rhizomes.
